mixed media installation, detail, 2009

“Border Wounds/Border Mirror” memorializes the loss of lives, dreams and innocence of youth in their journey across the US-Mexican border in hopes of a better life only to become crushed by the omnipresent drug trade, institutional violence and a hostile political climate driven by a long history of prejudice and fear. This installation was part of the “Shrines and Altars” exhibit The Gallery Project in Ann Arbor in 2009.
